We specialize in cultivating mushrooms that are not only delicious and nutritious, but also safe for consumption and environmentally friendly. Our growing process is rooted in science, yet guided by tradition and care. From preparing the growing medium to harvesting each mushroom by hand, we focus on every detail to ensure that what reaches your table is fresh, clean, and of the highest quality.

Growing Process

At Ibanda Mushrooms, growing begins with care and precision. From preparing clean, nutrient-rich substrates to creating the perfect environment for mushroom development, every step in our process is designed to support healthy, high-yield growth. Here’s how we do it:

Substrate Preparation

We start with high-quality agricultural waste like cotton husks, coffee husks, and sawdust. These are sterilized to eliminate any pests or diseases, ensuring a clean foundation for mushroom growth.

Spawning

Once the substrate is ready, we introduce mushroom spawn—this is the mushroom seed that grows into the fruiting body. The spawn is carefully mixed into the substrate and packed into bags or containers under sterile conditions.

Incubation

The bags are kept in dark rooms for several weeks at optimal temperature and humidity. During this stage, the mycelium (the root-like structure of mushrooms) spreads throughout the substrate.

Fruiting

Once the mycelium has colonized the substrate, the bags are moved to a fruiting room with controlled light, humidity, and ventilation. Mushrooms begin to sprout in a few days, forming beautiful white or gray caps depending on the variety (e.g., oyster or button mushrooms).
